Google Fellowship 2022: The Google PhD Fellowship Program 2022 is an initiative of Google to support promising Ph.D. candidates of all backgrounds who seek to impact the future of technology. The program was created to recognize outstanding graduate students doing extraordinary and innovative research in areas relevant to computer science and related fields. The selected fellows will receive up to USD 50K to cover stipends and other research-related activities, travel expenses including foreign travel for a 4-year fellowship, and Google Research Mentor.

What Indian Students Will Receive If Selected

Indian students will be eligible for the following benefits if chosen for the program by Google:

  • Up to 4-year fellowship
  • A sum of about 36 lakhs to cover stipend and other research-related activities, and travel expenses including overseas travel.
  • Google research mentor.

Qualification

To be eligible, the applicant must –

  • Be a Ph.D Enrolled student at an Indian University
  • Have received an undergraduate/master’s degree from an Indian University
  • Be a professional who is engaged with a registered organization in India

Advantages

Google PhD Fellowship Program has been announced for students across the globe who are pursuing their PhD. Google, through this initiative, aims at supporting students through monetary support that will be provided for a period of four years, as well as by adding them with a Google mentor to help them with their students.

The selected candidates will receive a fellowship of USD 50,000 for a duration of 4 years to cover stipend and other research-related expenses, travel expenses including foreign travel.

The candidates in the final stage of Ph.D. will receive USD10K to recognize research contributions, cover stipend and other research-related activities, and travel expenses including foreign travel.

  • Available transcripts (mark sheets) starting from the first year/semester of Bachelor’s degree till date.
  • Research statement of purpose (maximum of two pages).
  • Three letters of recommendation from those familiar with the applicant’s work (at least one coming from thesis advisor in case of current Ph.D. students)

  • Google staff and family members of Google employees are not eligible.
  • Students who are already receiving another Corporate Fellowship are not eligible
