Download ITR-1 And ITR-4 Form, Filing For AY 2022-23 Started

The income tax department has reported that e-filing of ITR 1 and ITR 4 for assessment years 2022-23 is enabled. As per a declaration on the Income Tax Department’s website, “E-filing of ITR 1 and ITR 4 for AY 2022-23” is enabled. Another update for the income tax e-filing portal is that ITR-1 and ITR-4 filing for the assessment year 2022-23 (Financial Year 2021-22) has been begun at the e-filing portal.

Reportedly ITR forms for assessment years 2022-23 were notified on the first of April 2022. Taxpayers can download the ITR form by going through the “Downloads” menu option and then filling and filing the ITR through the same. The online ITR filing process shall be enabled shortly. Last week, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) told the income tax return (ITR) forms for the financial year 2021-22. A notification dated March 30, 2022, was conveyed to the forms.

The income tax return forms have remained generally comparative for the beyond two years. All the eligible persons who are under the taxpayers will need to file ITR and they can download the offline utilities for ITRs and use them to file returns.

As per the tax department’s rules, ITR-1 can be filed by a resident individual whose:

  • Total income is not more than Rs 50 lakh during the financial year.
  • An income received from salary, house property, family pension income, and agricultural income which is up to 5000/-.
  • And other sources such as An Interest received from Savings Accounts
  • An Interest received from deposits in the Bank or Post Office or Cooperative Society
  • An Interest received from Income Tax Refund
  • An Interest received on Enhanced Compensation, and any other Interest Income Family Pension.
  • Income of Spouse which is other than those covered under the Portuguese Civil Code or Minor is clubbed only if the source of income is within the specified limits as mentioned above.
  • These taxpayers are eligible to file their tax returns using ITR-1. On the other hand, ITR-1 is applicable for an Individual or Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), who is Resident other than Not Ordinarily Resident or a Firm (other than LLP) which is a Resident having a Total Income up to Rs 50 lakh and who satisfies any remaining eligibility conditions given under ITR-1. Thus, assessees are eligible to file ITR-1 and ITR-4 now, provided they have all the information mandatory to file their return of income without any Form 16 / Form 16A, etc.

Taxpayers can file returns through ITR-4

  • ITR-4 can be filed by Firms, HUFs, and Resident Individuals whose income is more than Rs 50 lakh in a financial year.
  • The income includes salary, house property, family pension income, agricultural income, and income received from other sources.
  • An Interest received from savings accounts
  • An Interest on income deposited in the bank or post office or co-operative society etc.
  • An Interest on income tax refund and any other interest income
  • The family pension
  • An income from business and profession
  • An income from lotteries and horse races

Download ITR-1 And ITR-4 Form

  • First of all the applicant will have to go to the “e-Filing portal” and then click on the “Register User”.
  • Then the applicant will have to enter the User Id and Password to download the ITR-1 to ITR-4, or ITR-5 to ITR-7.
  • So in this way, ITR-1 to ITR-4, or ITR-5 to ITR-7 will be downloaded.
