Gujarat Residential Solar Rooftop Scheme Will enable people to install solar panels ranging from 1 kW to 10 kW on their roofs with a 30% subsidy from the central government and Rs. 10,000 from the state government. The Gujarat Residential Solar Rooftop Scheme will be implemented by March 31, 2024. Any residential consumer of any DISCOM who has a residential property in their name is eligible to install a (1 KW to 10 KW) Solar PV System on their roof from 1 supplier selected from GEDA Paneled Vendors. Gujarat Residential Solar Rooftop Scheme
All the beneficiaries will register their application for availing subsidy under Gujarat Residential Solar Rooftop Scheme subsidy 2023 only through GEDA registered approved impaneled vendor. The installed solar rooftop system should be of at least 1 kW capacity and should be 100 sq. Shadow Free Zone/KW Solar System. 30% of the total cost will provide by state government subsidy, which will give a subsidy of Rs. 10,000/kW per solar system installation.
In a major initiative, the Government of India, under the National Solar Mission, has set a target of 1,00,000 MW of electricity generation through solar power in the country, of which 40,000 MW is to be contributed through solar rooftops in different areas. To achieve this magnitude of capacity, Gujarat has been given a target of 8,024 MW of solar power of which 3,200 MW is to be contributed by the rooftop segment.

Solar Rooftop Yojana Gujarat 2023-24 Benefits
- 30% subsidy for the installation of solar panels by the Government of India
- 10,000/KW subsidy by the Government of Gujarat.
- Low/Zero Electricity Bill: The solar power generated will be adjusted against the electricity to be provided by DISCOM
- The solar system service connection is installed on the roof or on the ground on the premises.
- The solar system is owned by the consumer.
- The premises of the solar rooftop installation is owned by the consumer of DISCOM or are in the legal possession of the consumer.
- Solar cells and solar modules installed in solar rooftop systems will be manufactured in India. i.e. Solar cells and/or modules of non-Indian origin will not be eligible for subsidy under this scheme.
- Only new plants and machinery will be allowed for installation and will not be shifted elsewhere.
