NEET UG Counselling 2022: NEET UG result for the year 2022 was declared in September 2022. All those who have qualified for the exam and meet the cut-off marks criteria are now waiting for counselling and the release of the schedule. NEET UG Counselling 2022
As per the latest notice of NMC, “Since the counselling for NEET UG 2022 is going to start in the month of September/October 2022, there are colleges where we are waiting for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th renewal, all of them, It has been decided to grant/allow the renewal of permission on the basis of affidavit for the academic year 2022-23.” The authority will issue a detailed counselling schedule after the declaration of the NEET 2022 result.
NEET State Wise Counselling 2022 has not yet started in any state. The counselling is conducted by the designated officials as prescribed by the state government and the entire admission process is done online in all the states and union territories.

NEET 2022 Counselling Procedure
The process of counselling is the same at the central level and state level. However, the criteria for release of merit list/rank list and number of seat allotment rounds may differ from state to state depending on the number of seats and some other factors.

Release of Merit List- The counselling process generally starts with the publication of a merit list or rank list of qualified candidates. This merit list is prepared by the NTA and forwarded to the respective state counselling authorities and these authorities publish it on the counselling portal. Each state counselling authority has an online portal through which the counselling and admission process is done. Some states also release the merit list after starting the registration process. Registration for Counseling and Choice Filling – Those appearing on the merit list will have to register for counselling. Without registration counselling, candidates will not be considered for admission even if they obtain a higher rank. Registration for counselling is a completely online process. The registration schedule will be published on the NEET state counselling portal. The counselling will start on different dates in each state based on the decision of the concerned state authority.
The counselling commencement status for each state has been updated below. After registration, candidates have to fill out choices for preferred courses and colleges. The choice filling is an important part of counselling as seat allotment and admission majorly depend on the choices made by the candidates. Therefore, every candidate is advised to fill their preferences with utmost care. They should be ready with all their documents at the time of registration and choice filling.

Allotment of seats- After the completion of the registration process, the counselling authority scrutinizes the applications and prepares the seat allotment result. This seat allotment result is based on merit and rank and preferences filled by the candidates. The allotment result is also posted on the counselling portal, which candidates have to access using their login details. After allotment candidates are given various options like freeze, float, updation etc, which again differs from state to state.
Reporting-Candidates who finally accept the allotted seat will have to report to the college which is allotted to them. They report with the required documents as per the schedule for admission.
NEET Counseling 2022: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir will not be eligible to participate in the All India NEET counselling unless they give their consent. Those who will register for NEET 2022 counselling are on the MCC website. AIQ counselling for deemed universities will be open to all NEET-qualified candidates.
Central University Eligibility Criteria for NEET Counseling 2022
- Delhi University (LHMC, UCMS, MAMC):- 15% seats for All India Quota and 85% Institutional Quota seats for candidates who have passed 10+2 in Delhi.
- Aligarh Muslim University (AMU):- 50% institutional reservation for AMU school candidates studying there for the last 3 years. The remaining 50% seats to All India candidates.
- BHU:- Open to All India Candidates
- Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi : 3 BDS seats under the internal quota of Jamia and 47 seats are open for All India quota candidates. Students who have passed 10+2 from Jamia Schools can apply for the internal quota.
- VMMC & SJH: 15% seats for All India and remaining as Institute quota for students who have passed 10+2 from Delhi.
